One Year

On Sunday, Barb and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. It came and went without incident and we had a beautiful, and relaxing day.

I know that it is a little early, but I would like to take time to give thanks.

I am thankful that Barb and I were able to successfully move into our new apartment, without incident.

I am thankful that we managed to split our holidays amongst our families without dispute.
[Our system involved a coin flip, but it still worked!]

I am thankful that we successfully went through the process of getting a mortgage, building a house, moving out of our apartment and moving in to our new home.

I am thankful that we have successfully braved health problems and we are now as healthy as ever.

Most of all, I am thankful that through thick and thin, no matter what, I have a beautiful, loving, intelligent woman who wants to spend the rest of her life with me, and I her.

Customer Service (the good kind)

I know that there are many online communities dedicated to problems that people have regarding bad incidents of customer service, but I would like to take some time and talk about a good customer service experience I had.

People who know me, know that I like to collect things, and that I really like board games. The one I am currently having a lot of fun with is Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot. (Don't let the name get you it is a really robust game with a lot of interesting strategies) There are a number of expansions for the game, and apart from the "Bunny Blanks" I have purchased all of them from local game stores.

The only problem that I saw, was that there are also a number of "Convention Only" and Promo cards that the company has. Being the collector that I am I wanted to get my hands on them if they were still available. So I contacted the company, and told them my situation and within a day or two they replied asking me for my address so they could send some of the cards my way. Now, there are only 12 of these cards, all created on limited print runs, so getting them straight from the company is pretty cool. I thought I might get one or two, but when I opened the envelope today I had not two, but 6 of the 12 cards they released.

There is not a lot that can be said to that except, thanks very much Playroom Entertainment! Thanks for your generosity and your wonderful game! Keep up the great work!

That is advertising that only cost someone a stamp.

I just went into a room in the 1st Level on Flipside, and there is a device on the wall that looks like a DS. When you select it, it tells you "Awaiting Data Upgrade". What does this mean?

Barb and I picked up copies of Bomberman for the DS on clearance at Target and I highly recommend it if you can find a copy.

It has single cart only download play (no benefit to multiplayer with multi-carts) but Barb and I are really enjoying it. Voice Activated Bombs are awesome.
